イベントレポート「しながわ宿場まつりのおいらん道中」

「しながわ宿場まつり」は、江戸時代に東海道の宿場町として栄えた品川でタイムスリップ気分が味わえるお祭りです。

祭りの中でも特に壮観なのが「おいらん道中」です。このイベントでは、江戸時代の遊女「花魁」になりきった女性たちが、豪華絢爛な着物をまとって上品に商店街を練り歩きます。

時代劇の中で見られる江戸時代の人々が現代によみがえって間近に現れたかのような、貴重な夜の体験を楽しめるでしょう。

At Shinagawa Shukuba Festival, you can feel as if you traveled back in time to the Edo period when Shinagawa thrived as a post town of the Tokaido trail.

One of the most splendid attractions of the festival is the Oiran Do-chu.

In this segment, ladies in gorgeous kimono gracefully walk through  shopping streets as  Oiran courtesans of the Edo period.

It must be quite an experience where you can enjoy the evening spectacle and feel as if people of the Edo period have appeared right in front of you, as if they came out straight from Japanese historical shows.
